INGREDIENTS
  

For the Peanut Butter Base:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup honey or light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

For the Chocolate Topping:

  • 2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp butter for a smooth chocolate layer

INSTRUCTIONS
 

Step 1: Melt the Peanut Butter Mixture

  • In a large saucepan, melt ½ cup butter over medium-low heat.
  • Stir in 1 cup peanut butter and ½ cup honey or corn syrup, mixing until smooth.
  • Remove from heat and add 1 tsp vanilla extract.

Step 2: Mix with Rice Krispies

  • In a large mixing bowl, add 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal.
  • Pour the peanut butter mixture over the cereal and stir quickly until fully coated.

Step 3: Press Into a Pan

  • Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the pan using a spatula or your hands.

Step 4: Melt the Chocolate Layer

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 2 cups chocolate chips with 2 tbsp butter in 30-second intervals, stirring in between.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the Rice Krispie layer and spread evenly.

Step 5: Set and Slice

  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the bars to firm up.
  • Once set, remove from the pan and slice into squares or bars.
