INSTRUCTIONS

Prep the Dough

  • Open 2 cans of refrigerated cinnamon rolls. Set the icing aside.
  • Cut each roll into 4–6 bite-sized pieces and place into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish or a large bowl if cooking in a skillet.

Make the Custard Mixture

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla until well combined.

Combine and Soak

  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll bites.
  • Press down gently to ensure all pieces are coated.
  • Let sit for 5–10 minutes to absorb the mixture.

Cook the Bites

  • Option 1: Bake
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and the center is set.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Option 2: Skillet
  • Heat butter in a non-stick or cast iron skillet over medium heat.
  • Pan-fry the bites in batches for 6–8 minutes, flipping until golden and cooked through.

Finish & Serve

  • Warm the icing packets slightly and drizzle over the top.
  • Add your choice of toppings like powdered sugar, nuts, syrup, or fruit.

NOTES

Tips for the Best Cinnamon Roll Bites
  • Use half-and-half or cream for an extra rich custard.
  • If baking, you can prep it the night before and refrigerate until morning.
  • Don’t skip the resting time before baking—it helps the custard absorb fully.
  • For crispier edges, use a cast iron skillet or air fryer (for quick batches).
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan when pan-frying—cook in batches if needed.
